iMovie 2009 and HF200

iMovie 2009 keep crashing when i hit the camera import button to import from Canon HF 200 camcorder. HF 200 is connect to a ac adapter and is set on computer viewing. I googled and notice some people were successful and some had problem. One post state that it will only work with Intel mac. does anybody know if it will work with hackintosh?
