Wifi adapter and access connections (T42)

#1 Post by ferryman » Mon Aug 16, 2010 11:55 am

Hello there,

my sister got her T42 from work around half a year ago. Everything worked fine but then she got virus (i think) causing bluescreen on startup (in safe mode too). Reinstalling win (xp-SP2) solved that but the problem was she didn't get any drivers with it. I tried several for T42 and seems like
she has Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG wifi adapter. The problem is that in Access Connections I can't set Wireless mode and wireless security type(if I try to find network it it asks me if I want to turn radio on ,but the wifi icon doesn't show any activity). I also tried older versions of AC but with the same result. Note that i cannot access wifi through windows connections because i
my wifi is invisible(you can connect only if you know SSID and is also secured with WEP keys).

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Oh and also the windows connections shows other wifi networks so i think it's not a hardware problem.
