wifi network adapter not holding a connection

For some reason, if I am interacting with my computer... reading on a forum or a RSS feed or watching Youtube vids, my computer holds a connection pretty well. But I am reading something that is relatively long so I dont have to interact with it very much or just listening to Pandora it drops relatively quickly. Before the end of a given song. Any idea's on what the problem could be? I have had issues with the wifi ever since I updated the BIOS.
It dropped the connection as I was typing this post.
But I held connection for at least 2-2.5 hrs as I was going through my RSS Feeds
