Windows XP Tablet SP3 Virtual Keyboard problem

#1 Post by fraggy » Wed Aug 18, 2010 9:12 am

I have a problem with the virtual keyboard in XP Tablet edition (ThinkPad X41 Tablet). The one where the icon appears next to the text field, and you click on it, and the keyboard appears. Well it stopped appearing for me. i mean the keyboard, the icon still show up. However when clicked it doesn't open the keyboard. I noticed the issue on some other tablets as well (HP EliteBook 2730p). Anyone that has a solution for this, you help would appreciated.

Thanks.

P.S.
This is the icon that I'm talking about if anyone didn't understand.

RESOLVED
To my best knowledge, the problem was caused by UltraSurf Proxy software. When run the first time, it runs a process called 1.exe which stays behind in the Temp folder. I ran SpyBot Search and Destroy. which identified it as a trojan. After I deleted the file and restarted, it started working fine again.
