recovery disk help please!!
I'm trying to restore factory contents via recovery disks on my t42p. I have 5 disks total, but it's asking for a 6th disk that I do not have. What should I do!?!? I tried clicking cancel but it does not work.
Is there a way to download this disk (IBM product recovery disk 5 for T42P) ? I MUST have the laptop up and running today.
thanks

There is no place to download them from. If you cannot restore from the hidden partition, and you are missing a disk, your only (small) chance is calling 1-800-IBM-SERV.
If you put location info in your profile, there is also a small chance of a member in your area with the disks willing to help, or an authorized service center that might have them.

There is no location to download the recovery images .. mainly due to license agreements .. but also because they are freakin huge. If you can still access the protected partition hit the BLUE button at startup and recovery factory contents. There is also an option to create recovery media, which should take on average 6 discs.
MTBIAC: That is the Rescue and Recovery software, which while useful won't have an image with it.
