I've seen supposedly modern back-up systems that require a floppy disc to do a recovery. Having no floppy drive I'm looking at a back-up system now that depends on a USB boot instead of a floppy.
Is there any inherent reason why my T60p would not be capable of booting via USB? I use a 320gb USB external data drive successfully almost daily and have even run programs off of it from the system drive.
Thanks

Backup and security question
Re: Backup and security question
There is no problem booting off of a USB drive on a T60P. What 'back-up system' will you be trying to boot up?

Preferred suggestions welcomed. But I need something automated, something I don't have to put together from bits and pieces (like figuring out how to make a CD and worse, what to put on it) and/or work through a dozen steps or one of a dozen to do a restore. For what it's worth, the backup systems invariably recommended by gurus - Ghost and one I think starts with an "A" - are fine for gurus, but WAY beyond my multi-tasking and short term memory capacities.
I have an identical hard drive to my system hard drive, but I can't find software that will turn it into a drop in replacement for that system drive. I did that on another OS.
