IBM X41 Tablet shuting down problem
Hello,
I have a problem with IBM X41 Tablet. Notebook gets in system, where it works just few minutes. But then it switches off ( it is no blue death, it just switches off totally.) Indicating lamp for battery starts to twinkle with orange colour, (similar to the situation when the battery is totally unloaded and you are starting to load it.) Moreover, it does that also when the battery is not there. Do you know what I should do with that? Should I change the supply circuit or something like that? Thank you very much for your help.

Re: IBM X41 Tablet shuting down problem
I would guess it's a thermal (heat) issue, and even if it is not it's as good a place to start as any with spontaneous shutdown diagnosis. Run tpfancontrol in BIOS mode and report back the temperatures seen just before the laptop shuts down.

Hello, thank you for your reply.
However, I couldn't run TPFanControl - I have no harddrive. Windows XP live can run only Everest Ultimate Edition. Here is a CPU, North Bridge, APS, MiniPCI, PCMCIA and GPU sensors. (118F, 106F, 104F, 102F, 117F, 100F or 48C, 41C, 41C, 39C, 47C, 38C)

Those temperature measurements were taken right before the laptop shut down?

Unfortunately, no. Now I'm trying to load motherboard using OCCT.
After 10 minutes of using the highest CPU temperature is currently 65 degrees Celsius.
Other temperatures is 48, 50, 40, 52, 40. Cpu Fan 5419RPM and 1500MHz @ 1.12V

Temperature does not seem to be the issue. I am guessing that you need a new systemboard, but I would try to run a memory test. PC-Doctor or memtest.
