Re: Feeler: Rare Mint 14.1" T60 with Intel Graphics and SXGA LCD
Sorry > I know this is a FOR SALE THREAD ,,,,,renhui wrote:.................The intel graphics offers much better battery life and less heat ouput compared to the ATI graphics card. ( I had a T60 with x1400 before and it can get really hot)
..........
But your statement is at best "untrue"> as I have had 20+ ATI card T60Ps & T61x's -
none of them every got anywhere 'as HOT" as some MOST "COMPAQ" and DELL with same or nearlu SAME configurations to TPs
There are 'several' reasons; that result in HEAT - when it comes to T6xx......HEAT nearly NOTHING to do with ATI cards !!
FYI ,,,,, there is a USER in this forum > looking for T60 with Intel card
PM me (and meanwhile...I will ask him if I can pass on his detials to you...)
Good Luck with the sale

These are very nice machines. I have one similar and like it a lot. The SXGA+ / Intel GPU combination was indeed a rare one, typically only available on CTO and corporate special-order models.
Having two T60s, one with Intel GMA950, one with ATI X1400, I can't say I've noticed much difference in perceivable heat output. The GPU runs hotter, that's true, but you don't quite feel it. Then again, it can be due to my ATI model being 15", which helps heat dissipation.
However, the battery life difference is noticeable, although it may be skewed a bit by the fact that the LCD on the ATI is IPS Flexview, which in itself consumes more power.
Bottom line - this would be a very nice machine for someone who wants a high-res LCD, but does not need any graphical processing power.
