Graphics card problem

#1 Post by cookie » Mon Aug 30, 2010 1:14 pm

I just got the trial version of euro truck simulator, but when I start to the game, it starts, it plays music, and says euro truck simulator, but an error comes up Euro Truck Simulator has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. :?: :?: Do I need to update my Graphics card, or something link that? Thanks!

You can't upgrade a graphics card on a T4x laptop.
But you could change the whole motherboard for that of a T41p (93P3313) or a T42p (93P4159) with 128MB videoram.
They run hot, though!
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

Not necessarily. I have T41p with FireGL T2 and use it to play older games all the time. Dothan CPU (upgraded to 1.7 from Banias) is undervolted with NHC and under full load, max temps are below 60C (usually 55-57C). Web browsing and other usual stuff yield around 36-38 degrees C.

You can get 15" shell and built the whole electronics into it - my temperatures decreased in average 5 - 10 deg.C. on each sensor! (T43p)
Current: T420
Previous: T400, T43p Flexview, T40, R52, T43p 14"
My first ThinkPad was 570

Forgot to add that my T41p is 14.1", you don't need 15" case necessarily, just use NHC and you'll be good.

Of course, you have to get a FireGL T2 board first.

Hi,

You never stated how much memory you have in your laptop. When I put in 2gb in my laptops they all show they are using 128meg for video.

This holds true for T43, but not the older T4x series...T40/41/42 are stuck with the amount of VRAM that the card has, be it 32 or 64MB...T43 can "borrow" an additional 64MB from the "main" RAM...
