Magnetic USB Port

#1 Post by Subliming » Thu Sep 02, 2010 2:21 pm

I discovered this accidentally about my X200. The USB Port between the heat exhaust and the VGA port is magnetized. It is strong enough to hold a USB flash drive by the corner of its metal USB plug.

Is this a "feature" or is the port being magnetized by, say, the fan?

Interesting. I notice this is true of the left-rear USB port on my X201 as well.

The magnet is used to activate the lid-closed sensor inside the LCD casing.
