Is it an IPS screen? part# 13N7232 from my x61t

nowhere to find out where it was made, and if it is AFFS or IPS or just regular TN plate.
Can someone help me out here?

If it's in front of you it's very easy to tell. Just look at the screen from below or above. If the colors are washed out garbage it's TN. If it still looks nice, it's IPS.

Not necessarily. It could be AFFS, PVA, or MVA and still look a lot better than a TN at extreme angles.

You can rule out TN with that test, but determining whether it's an AFFS, PVA, or IPS variant may be a bit trickier.

As a follow-up: if it's an XGA display, then I believe it would have to be a Boe-Hydis HV121X03-100, which is an AFFS panel.

Yes, it should be the AFFS BOE-Hydis HV121X03-100 FRU 13N7231, "12.1-in. XGA TFT, protection plate, digitizer assembly G5 for wireless WAN".
