I've setup Remote Desktop Connection on two thinkpads namely X60s [host] and X40 [remote] running Win 7 and XP respectively, the connection is successfully made as both systems can access each other both via wifi and crossover cable, but problem arises when I copy a file from host to remote or vice versa, for instance there is an 8GB file on remote which takes about 17mins to be transferred to the host through crossover connection, but once the copying prompt is done the file is nowhere to be found on the host; although it takes exactly 8GB space on the disk. And when the remote desktop connection is disconnected, with a poof the drive of the host PC reclaims the space.
With the help of following links I had setup remote desktop connection on both systems:-

Can anyone see what am I doing wrong? thanks!

Re: Remote Desktop Connection help!
Please look at this http://www.kconnolly.net/Post.aspx?Titl ... nd+RdpClip
I have used RDT for controlling systems, but would not trust it for files because of similar issues in the past.
There are other ways you can attempt to copy the files.
Have you tried VNC?

Similar to what you want to do - remote control your remote system.
PM me if you require help.
