Replace Bluetooth IV in T43 With Better Bluetooth Unit?

I have a T43 that came with the IBM Integrated Bluetooth IV/56K communications daughter card. This bluetooth card does not work very well with my Droid 2 phone. Has anyone upgraded the preexisting bluetooth card to a newer version?

Specifically, will one of the daughter cards from some of the newer laptops connect up the same way as my current one?
I've never used the 56K modem, so that's not a requirement.

Newer laptops have bluetooth cards that are physically different and will not mount in a T43

I've seen some of the newer ones and they appear to be physically smaller. I think I could fit it in there somehow and am not worried about being able to screw it in and mount it.

My main concern was with the connector/wiring harness. Do you know if wiring harnesses for these types of cards are standard?

Another thing to consider is the fact that you'd need a modded BIOS in order to get the machine to boot with a newer card, even if you managed to install it and the wiring were correct...
