I read somewhere that if you try to service the battery pack yourself, the action of disconnecting the board inside the battery pack will 'lock' the circuit, preventing you from using it again. I suspect this is what happened to me.
I tried to replace the cells myself on the battery pack but now it does not work because the battery output now reads 0V using a multimeter to measure the two outmost pins on the battery connector (-) and (+). I am 100% certain all connections are correctly done. The boards gets the correct voltage (about 11V) from the cell assembly but it does not output voltage to the connector.
I checked the thermal fuse and I am 100% confident of my soldering work
When I put the battery pack on the laptop, the battery icon says 0V and not charging
Can anyone confirm the board lock up story? is-there a way to unlock it?
T4x Intelligent battery prevents you from replacing the cell
Re: T4x Intelligent battery prevents you from replacing the cell
If you do a search on recelling a battery, some threads will come up that go in more detail, but basically, they have to be replaced in sequence, or else the chip essentially commits suicide. You've missed the boat there, unfortunately (So have I, with running one down).
IIRC, from what I've read, the chip would need to be reset by reprogramming the eeprom. Not easy or cheap.
