IBM a/b/g mini-pci adapter vs adapter II

#1 Post by marko » Fri Mar 11, 2005 11:49 am

Whats the difference between the IBM abg mini-pci adapter and IBM abg mini-pci adapter II?

I looked at the specs, and while not in too much detail, they seem very similar, except that the first costs 99 and second, adapter II 65 bucks.

Thanks,

Marko

version II is better based on the later Atheros 5004X chip as opposed to 5001X for earlier version. See FAQ in my signature for more details.

I was told that the new one cannot do "extended" (non-US) channels. Can anyone verify?

I don't get why the newer version is cheaper.
