Can't see BIOS since updated to SXGA...works fine with VGA

I upgraded my T60 to a SXGA panel (1400x1050)...I can't see the BIOS. I can get it to work on my external LCD over VGA.

If I hit Function F7 I can get it to appear on the thinkpad, but it's just a still shot. I can't see anything changing.



anyone know how to fix this?

turned off HV expansion and it's working right. Makes it in a small window though in the center of the screen for any BIOS stuff, once windows starts it's fine.
