T410 vs. R500
How does the T410 compare to the R500 in terms of size and weight? Just by looking at the numbers they seem fairly close.
R500
Dimensions: 14.1" x 10.2" x 1.4"
Weight: 6.6lbs
T410
Dimensions: 13.13" x 9.41" x 1.09-1.26”
Weight: 5lbs
I've been using an R500 that I use mainly as a desktop replacement. Despite this I still find it a bit big and bulky, so I am considering getting the T410i. What's the difference between the T410 and T410i models? Just the processor?

There's no discrete graphics option on the T410i. I say if you're looking for a second system to compliment your R500, the X200 or X201 seems a better choice.

Re: T410 vs. R500
I was thinking of replacing it with the T410i since I want everything but the kitchen sink and be able to carry it around comfortably, and it's easier to keep all my files on one machine. Although looking at those numbers I'm not sure it's worth it. An X series is an interesting proposition though.

Re: T410 vs. R500
i don't think we are comparing apples to apples R500 (15.4 LCD approx 2 years old) vs T410 (14.1 LCD newer model).
If you are thinking to replace your R500 without high upgrade costs, find a T500 (slimer model to your r500 same size screen and power) or T400 (smaller screen) for under $400-500, get rid of yours for like 400. Having two laptops seems unproductive since it's only screen size and weight the only issue, power is similar between the T and R series, difference in the R is just more an economical model ... just my 2 cents.

Re: T410 vs. R500
why not find yourself a nice R400 from the outlet.lenovo.com, they are similar in weight to the T410. In addition, the R400 uses a magnesium rollcage for the screen, like they do for the T400.
Current ThinkPad: T430u, T430s, X1 Carbon, X1, X230t, X220t, X230, X220, X201t, W520, W701ds, T500, T420 and many more
