X301 freezes during OS install

#1 Post by chsu74 » Mon Sep 27, 2010 12:27 am

I am trying to install a fresh copy of XP for the past few days for a business partner's laptop. It is freezing at the same spot every time setting up Widows\system 32\cmd.exe during the "Installing applications" in the Preload Customizations. Diagnostics show that all the hardware is fine.

What could be the issue?

TIA

Set your BIOS to default...and let Windows boot from the DVD drive. Have you considered Windows 7?

I only have the recovery disks here with me in China. I am trying to keep it XP on both machines. Only one of them is buggy and cannot figure out why...
