Fedora Core 13 on T41 - Numeric Keypad Problem

#1 Post by Harryc » Mon Oct 04, 2010 4:39 pm

When I boot into Fedora 13 I have to hit shift Numlk (turn numlock off) to free up the keys on the numeric keypad to register the alpha letters. This does not survive a boot and I have to repeat it every time. How do I fix this behavior? When I boot into XP everything works.

Edit: Seems like an ongoing bug in Ubuntu. Perhaps it has carried over to Fedora.

Fixed by;

In terminal as su;
yum install gconf-editor
Then open gconf-editor, and search for "numlock".
Turn off "remember_numlock_state".
Turn off numlock "numlock_on".
