Quick question about A31 CPU's......

#1 Post by smw6230 » Mon Oct 04, 2010 5:17 pm

I'm trying to put a Intel SL6FK Pentium 4 Mobile 2.0GHz CPU into an a31 but I can't get it to lock into place. I'm pretty sure this is the right CPU, and I have it aligned correctly, but does anyone know what might be the reason why when I turn the screw to lock it the screw only goes halfway.

Never mind, I'm an idiot. I just needed to apply more force to the turn screw.

You are not an idiot, just being very careful which is good.

Sometimes a few of the pins on the CPU can be bend a little and it won't fit in the the socket properly. If you don't pay attention and try to close the lock, the pins can break.

Better safe then sorry.
