Usefulness Of The Expresscard Slot

#1 Post by epu » Mon Oct 11, 2010 11:21 am

I've been using this exclusively for SSDs with much success. The speed and reliability is there (depending on the SSD you use). I know many are using it for CF Card access and to add expansion by way of eSata connectivity, or USB 3 (for those Thinkpads who don't have them). What are you using yours for?

MY SSD is SLC and 16GB and probably one of the most reliable on the market (MTron). There are companies like Photofast, who make Expresscard SSDs in the 128GB range, SLC and has high transfer speeds (100 MB R/W +), such as this one - http://translate.google.com/translate?j ... Fex54.html

Thing is, they are almost impossible to get in the U.S.!

Anyway, what are you using your Expresscard Slot for?

I sure CAN boot from that Expresscard slot @ HarryC, particularly w/this Expresscard SSD. It's been done long before I purchased it.

Read this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo- ... let-2.html

I did very thing w/my X200 Tablet and Expresscard SSD already.
