t 43 cpu types

what would be the best cpu for a t43 in terms of performance, i wondered if the old core duo would work ( wished i left the last bit out) out of my t60. or is banias and dothan only choice.

also are the kbs all the same for 14 or 15in models or specific to those sizes

Only Banias or Dothan will work.
All 14" KBs are interchangeable, and all 15" KBs are interchangeable, but a 14" KB will not fit in a 15" T4x and v.v.
And then there are different KB manufacturers... NMB being the favorite.

i thought that to be the case with the kb, but i wondered about the cpu as it uses ddr 533 ram and i wondered if the fsb ran at that speed rather than 400 like the t40 t42, i bought yet to arrive complete minus display and kb but with cpu ram fan and cages a dead t43 just to see if i could sort the gpu fault by a reflow here at home i have an infra red temp gauge and hot air gun if it fails fair enough if i suceed happyness and joy,, i have a failing t42 gpu fault but mostly works un less handled roughly i would love to fix also a completely dead t41p ( maybe a fuse problem) , if i have success i will post if burn the lot up i will keep my head down.

T40/T41/T42 require a 400MHz FSB CPU and (DDR) PC-2100/PC-2700 SDRAM, whereas the T43 requires a 533MHz FSB CPU and (DDR2) PC2-4200 or faster SDRAM.

The two groups are not compatible for CPU or RAM.
