#1 Post by thinkpad321 » Sun Oct 17, 2010 11:08 pm

Hi

Is it possible to rotate the screen on a T40. I want view the T40 sitting on it's side.

Yes...works fine for me in Windows 7. I would assume XP has the same ability.

Go to Control Panel...

Display

Change the appearance of your display

Orientation: You have options to change from landscape to portrait

Good luck...

Another option, turn the TP on its short right side

Windows didn't have this feature until Windows 7. For XP, you need to go to the video driver's software to rotate. ATI Radeon's software almost certainly has this feature, though I am not sure about the Intel software for the T40.

Another way to do it is to install the iRotate freeware: http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/irotate.shtm.

Hi Thanks for responding.

I'm on a T40 in XP SP3. I don't see the Orientation setting anywhere.

I looked in Display Properties > Settings Tab... not there.
I clicked the Advanced button...the properties for Mobility Radeon 7500 opened. I checked all the tabs(13).
There is no Orientation setting or any other setting for changing the orientation or rotation of the LCD.
Of coarse I tried the standard CONTROL ALT Arrows key(s) and that did nothing.

You can try to update the driver, get Catalyst Control Center or ATI Tray Tools. They certainly have this feature.

Or you can try to download iRotate. It's a small utility that uses existing driver APIs to achieve rotation. It's possible that it will support your existing driver.

Yes, duly noted. You're not just a voice crying in the wilderness. :) I move that Pianowizard get a bonus feather. Do I hear a second?

edit: Sigh! Beaten again.
