Lines on LCD display

Not a ThinkPad but.
My dad has a HP Compaq nc8000 and the screen had 3 lines running down the right of the screen, after awail 30 or more started around it. I later bought a Used working no problem LCD for it and it worked fine for a week and now it has a 1" thic solid White line running down the center of the screen. So I don't know whats wrong with this. It is a 15" standard display.

Bad LCD cable maybe? Can you flex the screen a little and the lines go away?

no, I let it sit for about 5min and it goes off the screen. but its on there the entire time you power it on.

Had an computer with black line and green line on the lcd, replaced the LCD and it was gone.

Screens are durt cheap on ebay, find one, put it in. Real easy.

Yeah, at this point, since you have already replaced the LCD, I am leaving towards possibly the cable, but more than likely the GPU on the systemboard, since the lines come and go while just sitting there. The heating GPU might be failing and cause the problems to come and go...
