Error 2100 on boot up, what to do?

#1 Post by nikemen » Wed Oct 20, 2010 6:52 pm

Hi, just started using this little guy again, x61. Today, I get the following error

Error 2100 Hard Drive not found: When I heat to boot order, it says "device not found"

Not, my BACKPACK did fall, and the device WAS in a case, and it WAS off, but after that, this is what I got.

Is there a workaround?

my drive is an Hitachi 5400 rpm 80gb drive

The fall may have dislodged the harddisk from its connecter. Unscrew the harddisk cover, remove it and give the drive a firm, but gentle push. Then try to boot your machine. Hope it works for you.

Cheers,
