Remapping "Access IBM" hotkey to Windows key (X32)

#1 Post by miggy » Thu Oct 21, 2010 5:53 pm

How to remap the blue "ACCESS IBM" hotkey to Windows key under Windows 7? I'm using ThinkPad X32 and I was surprised to see that it is easy to remap "Access IBM" in Ubuntu.

1. To specifically answer your question, one program that did work for my T42:

ThinkPad Button Customiser - FREEWARE
Version: 1.0.2
Last updated: 16/04/03

You can set Access IBM to Windows Key using this program, at least for my Thinkpad T42 (under Win'XP 32-bit).

2. You can also use this Keyboard remapping program that I'm using:
Key Tweak
~I've remap my right-Alt button to Windows Key.
~Not sure if you can remap your AccessIBM key to Windows Key, perhaps you can try installing this small program, press AccessIBM in its "teaching mode" and see what you can come up with!

Thanks. It still works under Windows 7 - "Access IBM" can be remapped as a Windows key.
I had to install "Hotkey Features Integration for Windows 7" first ( http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 74261.html ).
