So I recently got a X201 with Windows 7 Pro and Intel HD Graphics. Alas, my trusted SyncMaster 244T, which used to get along well enough with my T60, won't display its native 1920x1200 properly. The desktop gets cropped on both sides (right and left) as well as (to a lesser degree) at the top. 1680x1050 works fine OTOH (except for being blurry, of course).
I'm not sure if this is just typical overscan or something else. If so, I suppose I could get an Ultrabase plus Displayport to DVI adapter. Any other suggestions? I tried changing the scaling in Intel's control panel but the result is half-baked at best since the absolute position is off as well.
A bit surprising this doesn't just work out of the box. Drivers and BIOS are up to date btw.
Issue w/ 1920x1200 on X201
Re: Issue w/ 1920x1200 on X201
I think that's a different problem. I can set the resolution I want, it's just not displaying properly. That guy wasn't even able to specify a resolution above 1280x1024, probably because there was something wrong with the EDID info.

The following shows the capabilities of the Intel GMA HD adapters.

Make sure you have the appropriate Windows Install Supplements and chipset drivers installed for Windows 7. The following page also has the latest video drivers.

Here is Intel's version of the GMA drivers. You could see if they work any better.

You can also try running Windows Update and see if any hardware drivers show up as available.
