Anybody with ThinkPad Monitor Stand 2001?

#1 Post by greg0815 » Sun Mar 13, 2005 3:33 pm

Has anybody a "ThinkPad Monitor Stand 2001" in use? AFAIK should it be possible to place a docking station with a docked TP in the lower compartment, but neither the IBM nor any dealers or private websites have pictures of this combination. Maybe any of the users here can provide pics?

TIA

According to the miscellaneous section at Page Computers, I think you can dock and/or undock while using it. I also see it on ebay for $15.

Thank you for the links - especially the auction looks great. But unfortunately I live in Europe :-( The price looks great, the one mentioned on the IBM website is awful high for a few black painted sheet plates ;)

I'll bet if you search ebay, you'll find similar willing to ship to Europe.

Came across this site recently http://www.shopthestates.com. They will provide you with a US Postal address for you to have goods delivered to. Then for a small fee will arrange postage to you.

I haven't used this service yet so I can't comment on their reliability but it may be worth a look.

Cheers,
Rob.

I use the stand with a T42 and the Mini-Dock. The laptop and dock sit on a tray which slides under the stand. Below are some pics (phone camera). The stand is ok but it's nothing special. I find it a little tall, perhaps it is more appropriate for a CRT monitor.

Hey, thanks for posting the photos. I just ordered a used one off of eBay for $19 shipped. I should have it some time next week I believe. Hope it doesn't turn out to be too high but I think it'll be ok after looking at those pics...

Thanks for hints and pics :) Though it doesn't seem to be worth to initiate complicated transfers over the Atlantic I'm gonne watch the local ebay auctions for offers.

from what i can see, the pictures are for a mini-dock or port replicator. I wonder whether a full dock II will fit in the monitor stand? anybody with that combination?
