What is Lenovo's keyboard warranty policy? When?

#1 Post by dorronto » Mon Oct 25, 2010 3:07 pm

I have an excellent R400 laptop with warranty until 8/2011.

The keyboard could use replacing though. The left side isn't flat and seems to be slightly warped.

What is Lenovo's warranty policy on keyboards? When do they say yes and when do they deny it..

I rather not buy a new keyboard unless I have to..

Thanks for your input,
Ron

Most of the time they say "yes" on everything that's CRU (including keyboard).

Not sure a new keyboard will resolve the warped / flat issue. This can be a matter of chassis as much as keyboard. Check that all the antenna cables are routed properly and that the screws are tight.

The chassis is flat, I checked it out. Screws are tight and wires are out of the way.

Thanks,

I just got off the phone with Atlanta and I have a new keyboard coming in 2-3 business days under warranty.
