At this point, it's happened so many times, I'm not even sure when it happens on my T500 and when it doesn't.

Either way, this issue seems like it is related, whether off or hibernating. Something is not right.

I also think it just happened to my Z61m which was recently upgraded to Win 7. I tried to turn it on after 10 days and the battery was at 0%, dead.

One of my T60s used to have this issue on XP (only while hibernating, though). Tried all sorts of tricks - made sure no device is wakeup-enabled, tried removing most of Lenovo's drivers and software, and in the end did a reinstall and it somehow went away. Still no idea of the true cause. :??:

I guess I will live with this problem till Lenovo comes out with something to tempt me into upgrading. Do not see anything even on the way, is there?????

Well I still do not know why but I took a suggestion on how to stop the battery leak and it worked.

At the end of the weekend, when I am done using my W510 and getting ready to put it in the drawer the solution is:

Pull the battery for about 5 seconds and then put it back in. After doing this last weekend, I started my W510 at about 7am Saturday and the battery was a 98%!

At least I will not be racking up recharge cycles on my battery but would still love to know what is going on.

One of the devices stays on when you turn the laptop off. And disconnecting the battery forcefully cuts power to it.

Probably an ACPI glitch.

BTW, have you tried running powercfg -devicequery wake_armed from the command-line? I don't remember whether it was suggested already.
