How to order a model not viewable from the website

#1 Post by bhuiyan » Mon Mar 14, 2005 1:15 am

Hi all,

Is there an way to order a ThinkPad model from TABOOK (currently not viewable from the IBM website) from the website itself? Any way to avoid calling them but still order?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

No.

But seriously. Talking to people is not scary. Try it sometime.

Actually, I live in Japan. Sending a gift to a relative in USA. Ordering from the US web site require calling at US business hours. That's why i asked for an way to avoid it. I read in this forum that there is actually an way to do this. Would the person with the right knowledge would kindly reply? I shall much appreciate.

To expand on what Bill said:

email him your requirements at:

bill@thinkpads.com

He will send you a quote. When you are ready to order, he will arrange to have it shipped to Japan for you. For an additional fee, he can do a "bad pixel check" before he sends it out. (IBM does not offer this).

Many on this board (and elsewhere) have purchased from him: all have been satisfied.

Well, that is news to me :o
I am in Nagoya, Japan. It's one hour away from Osaka by Shinkansen. Around three hours away by driving. Seoul is one hour away by plane, in another country, relatively close though.

If it is not a secret, may I know who your local associate is? I hope it is a local company. And in that case, what price do they offer for ThinkPads in Japan? Any weblink or phone number?

I would definately recommend buying from Bill, but my IBM Sales Rep is Martin Samuels, msamuels@ibm4pcs.com. You can always e-mail him for a quote.
