Hello. I've just got an x100e on a discount (~350 euros), my configuration is based on the single core MV40 CPU, with 1 GB of RAM, Radeon HD 2200, the 160 GB hard drive and the 3 cell battery. I have some general questions about this configuration :
- what is the performance difference between HD 2200 and HD 3200 (the one that comes with the newer model), I get about 1050 points in 3D Mark 06 and 1600 in 3D Mark 05 in full performance mode ?
- what is the Qualcomm Gobi 2000 Wireless Ethernet Adapter and does it actually include a GPS module as it seems ?
- heat is an obvious issue with this device, my cpu in full performance mode and without any significant load stays at about 75 deg C, is this a normal value ?
Thank you
x100e - general questions
Re: x100e - general questions
I don't know anything about an HD2200, but this is a reasonable place to start for mobile chip benchmarks.

Re: x100e - general questions
Welcome to the forum!
I don't have any info on GPU performance.
The Gobi 2000 adapter permits BroadBand cellular connecitons, in the U.S. with AT&T, Sprint and Verizon, at least. It does have the GPS feature built in. You do not need carrier activation for the GPS to work. Lenovo includes software that you can use to see it work.
Heat with the MV-40 CPU is well documented. Be sure to upgrade to the most recent BIOS, as it controls cooling a little better, so I've read. While the operating temps may be uncomfortable on your lap, they probably are normal for the machine.
