I recently installed an X-18M so I took interest. I passed on the third party software, but reading through their other SSD posts, I found some interesting items, such as the Intel software and the command line way to check and make sure TRIM is on.
(Most of you guys probably know about this, but I thought I'd post on the off chance that someone doesn't.)
What I found with the Intel software was that Superfetch was NOT disabled automatically in Windows 7, as we've all heard, on my system. This was due to my second spindle hard drive in the UltraBay. I installed Windows 7 clean on the SSD, but the magnetic drive was present during the installation. The Intel software turned it off, so all is well now ...
