Recovery discs creation, a second time?

#1 Post by Woodenspoon » Fri Nov 05, 2010 7:48 pm

I was wondering if there was a simple way to trick this system into working again, seems kind of unsafe they only let you do it once. Esp since if you do it early like i did, it was with my untested dock cdrw.... musta failed 4 verification burns cuz it didnt like my cd-r's, and there was no way to slow down the burns....which just makes me uneasy.

surely its just a registry entry somewhere in the system that needs to be changed..

The only way that I'm aware of would be to run the system restore and bring the machine to the factory condition.

If you are uneasy about your disks, you should duplicate them. That will tell you if they can be read.

yea eventually i just ripped them to image files with cdburnerxp.... i didn't feel like burning more cdr's;) one dvd is enough. the first disc image compresses quite a bit with zip, like 4:1, the rest really dont compress much.
