No graphics driver link from lenovo?

#1 Post by Woodenspoon » Sat Nov 06, 2010 6:51 am

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-62938
the drivers listed for video are not for the gma 950 or whatever of the x60. the graphics do work right now for this windows xp install or whatever, but the intel graphics media accelerator advanced settings panel properties no longer works. when i click it igfxcfg module crashes:(

Anyone know what is up with this?
I looked on intels page but the driver detector said that it doesn't do this custom chipset or whatever.

ah well i guess it might be a left over from a wrong graphics driver install.

weird thing about this thing is unless i use the undock in start menu, i lose headphone port when undocked.
undock button on dock doesn't work right even though it brings up the ejection util

This video driver is also located on the Intel site. Sounds like you need to remove and reinstall your docking drivers. But I also notice that the older docks worked fine with the legacy drivers. Todays drivers may cause you headaches. I personally don't dock the older equipment since they are touchy when going in and out of the dock...not everything works correctly. Just my 2 cents...Sorry.

+1

De-install the current drivers and let Windows update do the rest. It should actually identify everything automatically. At least it did it in my X60.

ah k,

well i chose a different route and installed win 7 on it instead.

pretty sweet i must say, spruces up the entire look, now is more like a modern laptop, and performs as fast as xp if not faster.
the gma 950 does aero well and everything seems to work as it should. the lenovo updater and windows update downloaded all the drivers even though they don't seem to exist on the x60 support page, stuff like the harddrive air bag and stuff.... only thing useless it downloaded was the toolbox, esp since it is out of warranty.

:)

only thing i'm curious about is what is that button like thing on the front side of the x60? it is right in front of the firewire...
