Help me find the right battery!

Hi Thinkpadders

A local seller is offering an "ORIGINAL LENOVO THINKPAD LITHIUM 7 Cell" battery, he claims it will fit in an T61, R61, T400 machines and that it the FRU# is 42T4669. Problem is that I cannot find that number in the T61 HMM (neither in the T60 HMM). I also looked in the Lenovo Support site, but after entering my T61's model number (see sig below) the battery's FRU is not listed there.

Do you know if the battery will fit? I would also be interested in knowing how to find these things out to avoid posting repetitive questions here. So far my "logic" was to check the HMM or the Lenovo site.

OK, your T61 is a standard 14.1" model. My research shows 42T4669 fits T61 R61

Thanks Harry for the reply. How did you find that it works? I'd also like to do some "right" research

Google .. I just checked a few retailers and made sure at least (2) of them agreed.
