T43 2010 error with larger disk drive.....

Advised by retail tech that the WD 250GB EIDE drive would work in my T43's. Needless to say that I receive this 2010 error with each boot-up. Is there a BIOS update for the laptop to correct this? Or is there a firmware for the drive that will allow the unit to boot without this error? If not, will this have any adverse effects on the operation of the drive and laptop?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!

The short answer is that the drive in question will always throw the error on boot. If you have the latest (1.29) BIOS, you can set the machine to continue booting after it reminds you that there's a non-approved drive in it.
