T410s Qualcomm Gobi 2000 3G wwan Card 60Y3183

#1 Post by nomax » Tue Nov 09, 2010 12:20 am

Was wondering if anyone has added the Qualcomm Gobi 2000 3G wwan Card (60Y3183) to the T410s, im doing a foreign study in the UK for the next 6 months and was interested in getting 3g data while abroad. In reading the forum it appears I will need to tape over pin20 and flash the bios with a modified one to accept the card. If so could someone please pm me the modified bios?

Thanks,

It might be easier and cheaper just to pickup a USB prepaid data card in the country you are visiting.

Welcome to the forum!

FYI, the T410s is considered a top-of-the-line ThinkPad. As such, all are WWAN ready and upgradeable. All you have to do is install the Lenovo Gobi adapter, the antenna leads and SIM slot (if required) are waiting.

Whether or not it works on non-US carriers is another matter (but it should, it is unlocked).
