Z61p - Core Duo or Core 2 Duo?

#1 Post by Tasurinchi » Wed Nov 10, 2010 6:30 am

Hi!

I was following the price here of an Z61p 0674-GEG, and after doing some research I find contradictory information.

According to Lenovo Support Site:

Product: ThinkPad Z61p 0674-GEG [change]
Operating system: All [change]
Original description: T7200(2GHz), 2GB RAM, 100GB 7200rpm HD, 15.4in 1920x1200 LCD, 256MB ATI FireGL V5200, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Bluetooth/Modem, 1Gb Ether, UltraNav, Sec Chip, IEEE 1394, FPR, 6c Li-Ion batt, WinVista Business

And here it says is a Core Duo, but Intel seems to have a different opinion.

I tend to believe more Intel, is my assumption right? Can someone confirm which CPU is built in this model?

Thanks in advance!

Z61's in general came with either the Core Duo or Core 2 Duo. The specific Z61p model 0674-GEG was built with a T7200 Core 2 Duo, according to Lenovo's website. So, unless the machine was modified after the fact, it should have the T7200.

BTW, that's a nice machine! If it is used, you should inquire about the LCD. Some WUXGA LCD's were fantastic, some grew dim with use. That machine can be upgraded to a T7600 C2D.

Thanks for the hints Underclocker! That machine looks really nice indeed and I hope the price does not jump to the sky till tomorrow. According to the seller the screen has no dead pixels, but I haven't ask if the screen has some dim. I'll do it asap.

Regards!
