well
i have this 15" T43 working really well wifi and bluetooth thanks to RBS , very happy, except the harddrive i would like to fit a sata drive i felt that given the extra depth in the hd bay in the 15" models could i fit a 2.5" sata drive with an adapter to pata .
i feel i might gain a bit of performance , but the main thing is a bigger choice of hd and price points, i feel someone has done this, because i am no innovator, but it seems a good idea ?
thanks ian

Re: t43 hoping to fit sata in main hd bay
There's a thread here, showing a guy on a Chinese website modified the SATA/PATA bridge, and now runs SATA hard disks in his T43

By the way, SATA-to-PATA bridge used in T43's and other is limited with throughput around ~80 MB/sec. Newest 2.5" 7200rpm SATA drives reaches 100 - 110 MB/s, so the bridge chip will slows data transfers. Look to this page:

Re: t43 hoping to fit sata in main hd bay
thanks for the info
shame im english and speak and read only english (mostly),my loss, well the solution i was looking at involved the use of an adapter (ebay) sata hd to pata socket these seem to carry power as well ,cost about £7.00 and suit the 2.5" drives i have a spare 200g sata drive here so i will try one of these but if these adapters dont work well ..just for info my current drive hitachi 100gb using hd tune has an average transfer of 28.5mb / sec that is slow i feel, also no errors on drive.
