#1 Post by baraider » Mon Mar 14, 2005 10:41 pm

I'm on edge here. Just ordered the m3u 2 weeks ago and read the Sticky today....now people here recommending the new t43..

I looked at the price and the 26684eU is cheaper than the m3u...

i'm still under 30 days brace ..

so i go ahead, return m3u and order the new one?

help me please.

Why not a T43-26684EU? It's around $1495 and spec is close to M3U.

I was tempting to switch to a T43 but I like the 60GB better and M3U is 0.2lb lighter. Also I bought a 512MB PC2700 memory stick already.

actually, i'm thinking of 4du or 71u...the 4du has no bluetooth...i have no use for it now...i can upgrade later...

the 71u has 2.0g, 80g...i'll call ibm tomorrow and see what the pricing is...if it's comparable with m3u then i'll return it.

Personally I think that's ridiculous. For one thing, they're not even apples-apples; the m3u is superior in harddrive and screen. Even if they were, I find it silly. Make up your mind and then buy what you want and stick with it unless there are problems with the machine. Isn't the time sunk setting up your system worth more than 100 bucks to you anyway? JMO :)

Here here!
Personally, I thing the 2373M3U is a rock-solid performer, as long as you can work with SXGA+ resolution on a 14" screen and do not mind a restricted viewing angle.

I see no valid reason to change, the feature set on the M3U are the BEST, no question!

FWIW

i called ibm this morning and ask about the price of couple t43....the 4du is more than 100 less than m3u and the 4eu is almost 60 less than the m3u while the 71u is around 110 more than the m3u..

you do the math....all of the t43 comes with 14" sxga, 1.86ghz or 2ghz...x300 card...specs are better than the m3u...

ok the height of the t43 is 1.34in and the t42 is 1.00in. So which one would i decide on portability? ya.....t42. Always like people commenting on how thin the labtop looks.

i agree, i would get the T43 (the e4u and better T43s ) rather than the m3u just because it has newer wifi and t43 has a better resale price

i kno m3u has faster hd, but u can upgrade easily

i ordered on the 2/24, got email invoice on 25 and received the t42 on 28....you said my 30 days brace starts on 25 before i got my ibm/

that doesn't sound right...what about people who wait 2,3 weeks after invoice to get the ibm?

I didn't get invoiced until they shipped the unit. That should be the date you go by.

I'm in the same situation as baraider, just that I'm returning my M3U because it has been giving me problems and I don't plan to keep it.

Probably getting for a 4EU. A pity IBM doesn't have an 14.1 inch t43 with a 7200 rpm harddrive right now. I like the one on the M3U, so I'll probably get a faster drive from elsewhere and put it in.

On a side note, I think the fingerprint reader is quite unnecessary. Nice to have, but really more of a luxury for the average user.

i got invoiced around the time that they actually shipped it. Already contacted a representative from IBM and all that.
