WTT: iPad 64gb WiFi for any recent ThinkPad
WTT: iPad 64gb WiFi for any recent ThinkPad
Just needs to have no screen gridlines and a dedicated GPU. Pretty much any other spec is fine. I'll throw in a Sena Leather Folio case (genuine leather, $100 off their website) and official Apple iPad Dock. Original box and connections for everything would be included.4gb of ram and a 320gb hard drive would be preferred, but of course, not required. As long as the condition is good.

@BillMorrow If you don't mind my asking, what iPad do you have? If you decide to look for a trade, I have an X200 7454-2GU, 2.4ghz, 128gb Samsung SSD, 4gb ram (no ultrabase) -- don't have the T400 this poster is seeking, but I would be interested in trading

Re: WTT: iPad 64gb WiFi for T400 or T400s
to be candid i had an excellent X200 that had been upgraded to an IPS display by harryc (a mod, here) and i sold it to finance the iPad (64gig, cellular, wifi, best version)..
i find, for me, a thinkpad is as good if not better suited to my personal lifestyle..
here at home all i can get is the AT&T edge network, not as fast as 3g or as reliable..
for reading ebooks it works great but i find ebooks (so far) do not take advantage of the technologies that could make them really 21st century by using the graphics abilities and connectivity available in the hardware..
seems to me if i am an author i would enhance the digital version of my paper book to use the iPads abilities..
now we can all agree (maybe, since few agree with ME on much of anything) that the kindle (cheaper and more basic) and other ereaders are no where near the iPads abilities, or cost, so enhanced ebooks are a long way off (or not since i only read 7 or so from the same author on the same theme os sci-fi)..
the other thing about ebooks is it seems one can only rent them and never actually OWN them..
unlike paper that you can resell or lend or give away..
and what happens if the device fails or, like here, it is sold off..?
on the positive side ebooks are much easier to read, especially in bed, since little ambient light is required (thus removing one irritation (turn the light OFF!) to the wifeperson)..
so, all this hyperbole' aside, i don't want another X200 (GREAT little thinkpad, but come ON, wXGA..??! ugh!) but, after the OP swaps his iPad, i might consider other swaps or..??

"X200 (GREAT little thinkpad, but come ON, wXGA..??! ugh!)"
ouch! the truth hurts
My little x200 is one of my favorites (in fact I have two) -- but you are so right about the screen. I don't have any real "need" for an iPad, but I have been looking for an excuse to get one. Even if I do end up purchasing an iPad, it could NEVER replace my ThinkPads -- would just be a fun toy to play with --

Re: WTT: iPad 64gb WiFi for any recent ThinkPad
Well, I'm pretty much interested in any ThinkPad from the T61 up (as long as said T61 is 4:3 and has the NVS140m). I don't really have a use for the iPad (but it is a fun toy) but I need something to do work while mobile.

Well this thread is closed. Worked out a nice deal with another member. Thanks for the offer though.
