What is an x60T with an SXGA+ Flexview monitor worth?

#1 Post by waseemaliuddin » Fri Nov 12, 2010 7:29 pm

Hi there all,

I'm considering buying an x60T with the SXGA+ monitor and wanted to gauge how much to pay for it. I've been wanting a tablet, but have never used one before so I'm a bit wary of overpaying and want to make sure that don't overpay (so I can sell it without losing too much money if I don't like it).

The system I'm looking at is in very good condition and has
1 gb ram
80 gb hd
8 cell battery
no adapter or ultrabase

What's a reasonable price to pay for a system like this (or what could I sell it for if I don't like the extra weight/size or tablet function)? I've seen similar x60 laptops selling on ebay for $175-$200, so I guess the question is what is the added value of it being a tablet and it having the higher resolution screen.

Thanks all,

Welcome to the forum!

Tablets always command a higher price than the standard models, and SXGA+ on X6x calls for a premium over a standard XGA tablet.

Condition of the screen is crucial. Shape of the battery is important.

If the machine has no major imperfections apart from normal wear, $300 is a steal, $350-400 is a fair deal.

My $0.02 only...

$300 if it's in good condition would be a great deal.

MAKE SURE the screen is still bright and it's not dying and dark. So many of these X60/X61 tablets with IPS screen get dim and yellow-green with age.

Thanks all,
There is almost no way to get an SXGA+ tablet for $200 on ebay unless is is a funky sale - maybe a seller with a low reputation or something.

These are selling for about $400 to $450 in Nov. 2010 depending on condition, You might be very lucky like @IvanAndreevich indicated and get one for $300 to $400 but it is unlikely.

Right now, $175 to $200 is more likely a very good price for an regular X60 notebook, not a tablet.
