X201 does not stay in Stand By

#1 Post by rajm » Sat Nov 13, 2010 4:17 pm

My X201 successfully goes into stand by, but will randomly restart an hour or so later. Anyone having this problem? Are there any fixes aside from formatting?

Thanks.

Have you tried looking at Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Edit Plan Settings, then disabling awake timers when you click the "Change Advanced Power Settings" link and look under the Sleep tab?

If that doesn't work then there may also be a similar setting in the Thinkpad Power Manager...which I don't have after clean installing Windows 7. Otherwise I don't know what to say.

Make sure that you have the latest version of BIOS installed, and try to update the video drivers to the latest version.
Lifebook P1032 (1024*600 8.9") => Averatec AV1000 (WXGA 10.6") => Kohjinsha SH6 (1024*600 7.2") => Sharp M4000 (WXGA 13.3") => X200-AFFS, dead => X200s-AFFS, later -PVA => X220 4290RV5 + Intel 310 80GB, T420s 4173KSU + FHD IPS + Sandisk Z400s 128GB
