New Generation BIOSes without WWAN/WLAN Whitelist?

#1 Post by nightalon » Sun Nov 14, 2010 10:31 pm

I've already PMed Zender and posted in the T60-area BIOS thread, since there doesn't seem to be one for this family, but does anyone know of a means of bypassing the BIOS whitelist other than going in and out of standby while you swap the appropriate NIC card?

Bill (Morrow?) was awesome enough to redirect me to Zender's BIOS page for this issue, but I still see no reference to the W510, T510, or T410.

I don't mean to bump this thread unnecessarily, but does anyone know whether any **10 model BIOSes are available? There seem to be none available from Zender, but maybe I am looking in the wrong place. W500 and T500 BIOSes ARE now available, which is news since I last checked several months ago.

It would just be so nice to be able to buy a NEW ThinkPad and replace the internal NICs rather than buying an OLD one in order to do so.

There doesn't seem to be anything turnkey for the T400 either, and my (potentially dangerous) guess is that the procedure did not change for Tx1x.
