Older Intel drivers recommended, what is this?

#1 Post by Muse » Wed Nov 17, 2010 8:30 am

I did System Update for my newly installed Windows 7 64bit Ultimate and downloaded and installed everything but Access Connections and the Intel Wireless WiFi for Windows 7 64-bit (I think someone said that Windows' version is faster, so I'm holding off on that, comments? I have the Intel 4965 AGN, Wireless N is actually enabled!).

I have a message in my taskbar saying a driver update is recommended and it's for Intel driver INVM110CD.exe, which is the Intel(R) Turbo Memory Driver, and somehow associated is the Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver for Windows 64bit, maybe it's both, from what I experienced when I initialized the download. I, of course, wondered why I'm being prompted to download a driver when I just did the downloads and installs using System Update. At the end of the installation process I get a message that the drivers already on the system are newer than the ones I'm attempting to install, do I want to replace them anyway. :BAAAD!: I go "Cancel." What's up with this? The message to install this new driver remains in my taskbar. :??:

Looks like this:

? You are about to install the following driver versions:

- Intel Turbo Memory: 1.10.0.1012
- Intel Matrix Storage Manager: 8.9.0.1023

These drivers are older than the drivers currently installed on this computer. Are you sure you want to continue?

[ Yes ] [ No ]
