Lightest weight possible on a T-series

#1 Post by sneakyazn » Tue Mar 15, 2005 11:27 am

What is the lightest weight possible for a T series laptop assuming the following:

1. using the plastic travel bezel instead of an optical drive
2. 6 cell battery

any other ideas on how to lighten the laptop? and how much the above configuration weighs?

The lightest travel weight of the 14.1" model is ~4.5lbs. If you want an ultralight laptop then you should consider the X40 which starts at 2.7lbs.

14.1" and XGA for sure.

No idea if different HDDs are different weights.

China keyboard.

Non-touchpad palmrest.

Debadged.

No bluetooth, wifi card, or upgraded RAM. Remove antennas from LCD cover.

You might want to drain the battery so it's not weighed down with excess electricity.

HAHA... You forgot replacing the Soft Dome TrackPoint cap with the smaller, lighter Classic Dome  Seriously though, I don't think you can go below 4.5lb on a T41p.

I bet half those screws on the bottom aren't really necessary.
