recovery discs dont work..help please

When I put in the recovery discs it does not load. it says to remove discs and try again. Well that won't work when you are trying to use a disk.

I have been trying to put an ssd in my t60p and the cloning does not work. I thought the recovery discs would work because other members have done that to get their ssd installed.

Any help please? I love this machine and it is driving me crazy.
