IBM t61 speaker issues (win 7)
IBM t61 speaker issues (win 7)
All,
I've been experiencing a random problem -- I've had no sound for about 2 months and I tried disabling the audio in device manager, re-enabling ... Re-installing drivers, Rebooting, etc. One day, I magically turned my computer on from sleep and the speakers worked for about a week. Now they dont work again . Any ideas what is causing this odd bug? It's bothering me so bad..
I know there is a very weird correlation between the modem and speakers -- and I even tried disabling the modem and re enabling and it still doesn't help.
What gives?
thanks.

Welcome to the forum.
Check that the speakers are properly connected inside the laptop (Remove the keyboard for this).
If you have Verizon WWAN, make sure the ferrite core is also installed just before the cable-plug.

I will do this --- but can someone explain the relationship between the computer being turned into sleep mode then the speakers stop/start working? I figured it might be a software fix.RealBlackStuff wrote:Welcome to the forum.

This could very well be a loose connector, which temporarily re-connected due to e.g. gravity and disconnected again through other circumstances. Just open/close the lid is enough vibration, if you have a loose connector!

I looked and was unable to find any loose wires , etc. The speaker cables are the smaller red and blue wires , right?RealBlackStuff wrote:This could very well be a loose connector, which temporarily re-connected due to e.g. gravity and disconnected again through other circumstances.
