Transferring a T60 DC IN port to an SL500

#1 Post by sausage » Thu Nov 25, 2010 4:52 pm

so my T60 has become so damaged it's just plain annoying to fix, something breaks, you have to break something else to fix it, then fix what you broke and hope you don't break something else.

My brother has an SL500 which doesn't work due to a cracked DC IN port, but he's willing to give me the laptop if I want to fix it.

I'm willing to permanently take my T60 out of comission and swap the ports if the transfer isn't too difficult. Does anyone know if it would be doable? (We use the same charger so I assume that the ports are similar/compatible)

Why bother with the T60 for this repair? The DC power jacks are cheap on EBay.

Are we certain that those jacks will work in an SL500?
